Zakdoek (Handkerchief)

Flapbacktext:

Handkerchief has just been born.

Washed, ironed and folded, he lies in the linen cupboard.

It’s awfully quiet.

Excited, Handkerchief waits for his first job.

He loves action. He wants to be useful.

He longs to work.

Like wiping the mouth of a princess.

Then he’s taken by Victoria.

Not a princess at all.

With her he has his first adventures.

He gets himself all dirty and doesn’t like it one little bit.

But there’s nothing nicer than being washed.

In lovely warm water.

And then being pressed flat.

With puffs of steam from Steam Iron.

Ready for his next adventure.
